Most people are familiar with dutch ovens - they are very popular amongst campers who like to cook tasty and wholesome food over a camp fire.

However dutch ovens can also be used in the kitchen - one example of this is the Le Creuset Dutch ovens, which are made of cast iron and then enamelled on the inside and outside with porcelain, which both protects the cast iron from rust and makes the ovens non-stick. Le Creuset dutch ovens are made for use on the hob or in the oven, they don't go on campfires.

Lodge, who are famous for their camping cast iron dutch ovens also produce a porcelain enamelled dutch oven for kitchen use. Lodge Dutch ovens are considerably cheaper than the Le Creuset version, but work just as well.
